Charity Shop Loving

Been dying to do some some posts recently, have loads of new things to share. I just started a new job so have been pretty busy recently working and spending my discount. Anyway, thought I'd do a post on charity shopping as quite a lot of things I wear are from them.

I admit it, I am a secret hoarder. I can't bare the thought of throwing away clothes. Fashion repeats all the time, so why buy the same thing that everyone else has when you can wear a version that you used to own once upon a time. I always fall back in love with old clothes I once hated a few years ago but kept hold of, or items my mum luckly kept since the 80s. This is probably why I love charity shopping so much.

I know charity shop shopping isn't for everyone,a bit like sale shopping. You do have to go through a lot of rubbish to find something worth while, but once you do its so much more exciting. I'm aware I sound like a massive saddo.

So I thought I'd write a few rules I mostly stick too when shopping in charity shops for anyone who's not sure where to start:

1) Go to nice areas- I normally find nicer brands in posher places even if they are a bit more expensive.

2)Don't go in looking for something in particular-. I swear whenever I want a new jumper/a certain print ect there is nothing like it, and I end up not getting anything because i'm too busy hunting for it.

3)Don't buy everything because it's cheap- So many times I say 'oh its only £5', then I continue to buy 5 other things that I'm not massively keen on when I could have spent that money on something I'd love and will actually wear. So hard not to get carried away.

4)Try stuff on- I almost always try stuff on otherwise half the time I get it home and decide I never want to wear it because it fits weird,

5)Don't just stick to looking in your gender/size- Half the things I buy are mens or a size 16.

6)Wash before you wear-Pretty obvs, who knows where its been. My boyfriend always tells me someone probably died in what I wear, which is just a lovely thought.

I don't care if I smell like old ladies, old ladies are cute.

These are some of my fave new buys from charity shops recently, if I could wear this swede skirt everyday I would.-So beautiful. The colour is amazing, and swede is definitely one of my fave fabrics right now. I don't tend to wear too much second hand things together but I thought I'd wear a few things from charity shops together to show you don't always have to look like a nan or a hipster from Camden.

I love the neck line on this jumper, such a cute little detail.

Just a quick post, pictures from my second day in Liverpool. Kept debating whether to post this or not as i don't really like the photos, but here it is anyway.

I bought this skirt for a few pounds a couple of  years ago in a charity shop, and I still love it, so easy to throw on with a baggy jumper. It is normally ankle length, (think i rolled it up one to many times), but I find this is such an easy length to wear for a casual look.

The colour of this jumper is one of my faves atm, perfect for this sunny spring like weather! Yellow tones are an easy way to brighten up a monotone outfit when a little splash of colour is needed.

Hello i am back! Been crazily busy the last few weeks finishing off applications, working, and my birthday! Went to a cute sushi bar the other day, so took the opportunity to take a few pictures.

Biggest news since i've been gone.. i've finally got a new pair of trainers (yes that's bigger than passing my driving test, and turning 20) and they are my new obsession. You cant go wrong with a good pair of trainers, over sized shirt and a chunky knit, definitely the best investments for winter this year.

Yes, i have bought another pair of culottes (and I may or may not have another new pair waiting to be blogged...). I just cant help myself around them, baggy over sized and comfy- what more can you ask for? They do go with everything as the perfect statement piece; my favorite ensemble of course the chunky knit or over sized shirt, but you cant go wrong with a fitted top or a pair of chunky heels if your not comfortable with the full on androgynous look.

So, in conclusion, If you don't yet own a pair yet, what are you playing at? these babies will keep you going right through too summer.

hello hello, yes i am still alive.
Feels like forever ago since my last post, been crazily busy recently. Work, portfolio and organising my travel plans is taking over my life. Anyway just thought id share a few photos from a little walk the other day.
Please appreciate my two fave things in life rolled into one-leather culottes! I've been waiting to wear these ever since i brought them home and realized they are to big, and as i cant get hold of a smaller size i refuse to wait any longer. They may be the biggest man repellor, confirmed by the look of my boyfriends face when i walked through the door, but that's right up my street if you go by the rest of my wardrobe.

I'm the biggest coat addict this year, but as my bank balance isn't having any of it and i cant get into my savings account (where all my money goes), charity shops are the only way forward. Not that i have any issues with this, as you can tell from from my other posts, i enjoy an original piece not current in the shops. My Sheep style coat finishing off this outfit perfectly for a walk in the cold- and yes that is me taking a selfie with a horse.

Zara vs charity shops

I love a mixture of charity shop and highstreet, especially when i come across jumpers and shoes like these. There's always a few good polo necks in charity shops, but this one caught my eye for its beautiful deep berry shade. Its so thick and warm, perfect for this autumn weather without the need for a coat. My other bargain of the week were these shoes, everything about them i adore! The tread, the colour the pattern,, when i saw them hiding away in the corner in a size 3 i was so happy! (even if they are flats)

Kept the rest of the outfit quite simple, little leather white skirt from Zara, which has had a lot of wear over the summer, but is still going strong through till October. I love the look of  short skirts and over sized knits, just a shame i don't have Alexa Chung's legs.. Added my trusty black shopper bag to keep the look casual, and of course a berry lip, it is Autumn after all.

Ps please excuse my pasty legs, i need a holiday.. or at least a good fake tan.

xx
