Springs sprung early

How amazing is this skirt?! Embroidery is going nowhere fast and I'm so happy about it. Spring is on it's way so it's time to get shopping for some amazing skirts ASAP. The best thing about the weather transitioning, is that you can still cosy up in lots of layers but bring some summary vibes to your outfits. Whether is be embroidery, blight colours or bold prints, a little touch is perfect to bring yourself into spring.

I'm definitely partial to a skirt and dress, especially with a jumper and boot combo. Nows your chance to stock up on all the new season highlights are wear them all at once to keep away the chill.

Injecting a bit of colour for "summer"

This rain is not helping my holiday blues, however i'm so happy to be back in clothes I like wearing!
Words can not describe how excited I was to shop for the first time in months- I may have gone a tad over board.. I have more shopping bags than carpet right now.

I enjoying how seventies everything is at the moment, and I'm loving bright warm tones! In the hope of bringing back the summer I thought i'd inject a bit of yellow into my life.

I find this weather the hardest to dress for when its constantly grey and rainy but still warm, I always find bare legs and a thin jumper are an easy go to. If you're not keen on a whole bright outfit, keep it neutral and pair a simple bright staple, such as a skirt/top/jacket or even just an accessory.

This skirt is one of my favorite things in my wardrobe atm, its so versatile for day or evening, and the little slit at the front is such a cute little detail.

Been awhile since my last blog post, since then i've quit my job, and i'm off travelling at the end of this week! I really wanted to fit in another post before I left as I have quite a few outfits to show, but these last few weeks have flown by! So I wont be posting for a few months, but will make sure I do a few massive travel posts on everywhere i visit to make up for it! For now, follow my Instagram -Yas grottick for updates!

These pics were from a few weeks ago, I was on my way back from getting my Vietnamese Visa. I accidentally managed to forget to bring cash, resulting in me running to the station and back in these heels not long before these photos were taken- So excuse my sweaty face, ew.

I've become such a trouser lover recently, especially if they're striped! I'm actually sad that its going to be too hot to wear them soon- never thought id say that! I think a mixture of a smart look with a hint of lace or skin really adds too an outfit. In this case I wore a lace bralette with a low buttoned shirt to take away from that office look. Subtlety is the key though.

Anyway that's it for now, I will be back! Hope everyone enjoys their summer.

The stripe obsession continues.. but for once in a fitted form, say what?! I actually got both this jumper and skirt in separate Zara sales, but they are the perfect match! I'm all for a matching set, so its extra exciting when I buy items separately and they're patterns or colours are identical or compliment each other perfectly! The fact that they are both knit wear makes me love these pieces even more! However the jumper is rather long, so i think i may cut that, but for now, you cant go wrong with a simple tuck.

I don't know why i continue to buy summer clothes right though winter- these heeled sandals being the prime example, I blame topshop. Anyway, a chunky knit and coat cancels out bare legs or a peep toe right? (yes). Anyway in this case, my skirt is also knitwear, therefore definitely suitable for snowy conditions..

Now to go and put on some socks..

Shine bright like a trainer

It's getting cold, but while I wait for my dream winter coat to come back in stock (hurry up Asos),one of last years will have to do. Keeping it casual today, as per, ,for lots of walking around, but the day ended in Spanish food and for once I didn't have sore feet, result! These trainers are my new (very bright, clean) obsession. I loved them as soon as I saw them, even if they were a slightly different colour to what i thought online (mint grey shades rather than camel) Although about 70% of my wardrobe is grey, so it probably worked out for the best.

This top is actually about 3 sizes too big for me, so it looks baggy and over sized, which is always a good thing in my opinion. Would have looked better paired with a big over sized ankle length coat, but oh well, on the wish list for now.

Over sized jumper take 2

So its coming up to my favorite weather (sunny but cold enough big jumpers and layers) so i'm making the most of being able to wear peep toe shoes and bare leg before its raining or snowing almost everyday.

So I thought id do a different take on my new favorite Zara jumper, and dress it up a little for the brighter weather with this lightweight pleated midi. I like the contrast between the sheer pastel pink of the skirt and my thick woolly jumper, with added textures of another new favorite of mine, the furry over sided clutch. But keeping it simple with minimal jewellery and layers, as its not quite cold enough to be wearing most of my wardrobe at once.

Hey, just a quick one as i am knackered, spent the day shopping for sofas and decor for our new living room, so keeping it nice and simple. This jumper is the comfiest piece of clothing I have ever bought, Its so soft and warm, I was literally dragging myself out of the sofas by the end of the day. Defiantly going to be a staple in my wardrobe this winter. I just teamed this with all black accessories, including my favorite bowler bag, with its beautiful patch of snake skin pattern. Also wearing a fedora to dress it down, and a berry lip to add a pop of colour.

Now to go sleep, probably in my new Favorite jumper because it is just too comfy.

Stripes on stripes

So its getting colder but its not coat weather yet. I recently saw this shirt in h&m and fell in love. I originally planed to wear it as a dress before realizing the sides and front had massive slits up them , which probably wouldn't give me the exact look i had planned ...(Also i think id get frost bite) However the slits just makes me love it even more, and you cant go wrong with pin stripes.

Having a casual day today, so I kept this look simple, teaming my shirt with skinny black jeans, black leather tote bag and my new favorite mules which I will be wearing non stop until it snows. The red stripes on the shirt are quite thin, so i'm wearing a red lip and nails to bring out the colour. And of course a few silver rings, because i'm a ring addict.
