Clothes are for life, not just for Christmas

Welcome to yet another post of me nonchalantly looking away from the camera. In true spirit of my blog, here's some throwback outfit shots. I recently rediscovered these pictures from a trip to Notting Hill last year and I'm not too sure why I never published them.

Anywho, it got be thinking about outfit repeating and keeping hold of your favourite pieces - who even has time to wear an outfit once and sell it on depot straight after. Lazy girl probs.

From flicking through these pictures, I'd definitely still wear this outfit one year on. Of course fashion changes all the time and I can't say I don't love a signature trend piece, but it's ok to stay real and re-wear your beloved cosy white jumper year after year.

Everyone hates to spend top dollar on simple pieces, but these are the ones that will last and help build up many amazing looks to too come. ... and those that aren't too simple, just keep them for your kids (or yourself) - everything comes back around and I've definitely made the most of my mums 80s throwbacks over the years. Vintage darling.

So, just remember when you're umming and ahhing over that slightly over priced *insert item of clothing here*, clothes are for life, not just for Christmas.

Fishnets and Snakes

Last one from Rome, and my fave outfit, may I add. Who doesn't love a pair of fishnets right now?! If you're ever worried about rocking a pair, whack on a loose fitting tee or jumper for a more toned down vibe.

This jumper has been a fave all year, it can be worn in so many different ways - when it's not tucked in, it has a loose tie that can be tied at the front or back. I love how baggy the style is, so perfect for a spring evening when you want to keep a bit of leg on show and pretend it's summer (but also stay super cosy and warm.

Also how amaze are these earrings! Big earrings over chokers everyday.

Springs sprung early

How amazing is this skirt?! Embroidery is going nowhere fast and I'm so happy about it. Spring is on it's way so it's time to get shopping for some amazing skirts ASAP. The best thing about the weather transitioning, is that you can still cosy up in lots of layers but bring some summary vibes to your outfits. Whether is be embroidery, blight colours or bold prints, a little touch is perfect to bring yourself into spring.

I'm definitely partial to a skirt and dress, especially with a jumper and boot combo. Nows your chance to stock up on all the new season highlights are wear them all at once to keep away the chill.

Motivation for the Lazy

It's been a while since I've sat down and got my s**t together, so I now have a back log of fashion content to post. In true new years spirit, I'm back in the blogging game for 2017 ... in February.

I took these shots back in December and I still would of course still wear this outfit (sparkles aren't just for Christmas), but it's got me thinking about my work ethic.

I'm not going to lie, I can be lazy as f**k. When you take time creating content which doesn't pay your bills or and it isn't helping towards your career, the fun can sometimes be sucked out of it. However, working hard does pay off so I'm sticking with it and I'm talking all things motivation.

Not to be hypocritical (as obvs there is a current lack of motivation showing in content) but heres a few things that work for me and I'll be continuing with from now on.

1) Tidying - Coming from someone who's room tends to resemble Tracy Emin's work (please search 'My bed' If you're sure what I mean), I tend to struggle with this the most. After a spring clean, I'm always 100 times more motivated and ready to get s**t done. A clear room really does clear the mind - I'm so cliché, I hate myself.

2) Set an alarm. I don't like to waste my day, so this one is easy. When I'm going to bed, I make sure i'll get at least 8 hours (I can't survive on less) and set my alarm for about 8am ish. If I then go to the gym or get showered and ready straight away, I always get so much out of my day. Lying in bed for hours starts of a lazy day.

3) Lists - I used to always avoid making lists because I'd I write down every single thing that needs to be done in the foreseeable future. Then I'd take one look at it, stress, and find a way to distract myself. Planning your time can be so helpful, so to get myself in the game, I love buying new stationary/note books/planners. I then like to keep my lists sweet and simple, so I only plan what I can realistically get done so I'm not disappointed and always lagging behind.

4) Go somewhere new to work. It's easy for me to get in the habit of waking up, going down stairs in my PJs and getting my laptop out on the sofa in front of the TV.  This is the same place I'd go to chill, so I'm easily distracted from work here (I.e watching This Morning on my days of - Phillip Schofield is bae). When I have things to do such as editing or writing, I'm a lot more productive when I'm sat at a table or in a coffee shop (if I'm feeling spontaneous).

5) Inspiration - Obviously, a lot of creative content is found on social media, especially fashion blogs. I used to look at Instagram like a bible and would constantly be up to date, but recently I've been getting a bit bored and haven't bothered with it, which has definitely affected my work.

It's so important to source new inspiration when you're feeling this way. After searching for new bloggers/artists/photographers work I always get a rush of motivation. Reading an interesting post or seeing a different style of photography always inspires be so get working on something new.

6) Don't juggle too much at once. Finally, the hardest one for me. Start one task and complete it before moving on to the next. I rarely have less than 20 tabs open on my laptop and i like to think of my self as an amazing multi-tasker (is that even a word?!). This always makes every task take so much longer than if I completed it and moved onto the next after.

I hope this inspired someone to get their arse in gear. if not, it's got me thinking. More blogs to come.

Camouflage your way through autumn

It's clichè, but you can't go through autumn without at least one item of burgundy clothing. This jacket has been a staple in my wardrobe throughout this season and surprisingly, it goes with everything! Burgundy and nude have turned out to be one of my favourite colour duos.

Clearly I also have a thing for patent and PVC, you can't go wrong with a patent sock boot.

Pula, Croatia travel diary

After a long drive through the border, we made it to Croatia! The city we stayed in was Pula, known for it's Roman arena.

Our hostel looked like the dogs bollocks online and was super central, but after getting lost (what's new) and being escorted to 'reception' by a group of creepy men (which was actually, said creepy mens bedroom), we made a swift exit to our room avoiding the 30 something other European men on the floor below.

I can't say I'm the most organised person and when visiting a new location I like to get my bearings then plan the days ahead once I've arrived, rather than in advance.

The main town is quite small and mostly packed with restaurants, cafe's and souvenir shops. There are day trips to Islands you can arrange, but we didn't have time and fancied having a chilled few days eating and sunbathing to end our trip.

Although everyone staying in our hostel at the time was a bit pervy, the decor was so shabby chić and cute!

There had been a film festival taking place in the arena over the last few days. Luckily we arrived on the final day, so we're able to catch the last midnight viewing under the stars. You have to get there super early to get yourself a seat with a good view and have time to queue for a snack.

Our early was not early enough, so we squeezed in a little spot at the very back to watch the first film. Only problem was the film was in Croatian with English subtitles - which would have been fine if the subtitles weren't showing right at the bottom of the screen, behind everyones heads. Still have no clue what that film was about.

Luckily, as it was quite late everyone disappeared after the first film. I grabbed us a spot right in the centre while Holly took popcorn duty. We had the perfect spot and the film was in english! Who wouldn't want to watch ghost busters at 1am in the middle of Croatia, wrapped in your borrowed hostel duvet?

There are a few different beaches in Pula, however they don't all tend to be sand or pebble, occasionally they're made of concrete terraces or rock where you have to ease yourself into the sea.

The first beach we went to was in Valkane which was like this. We weren't a fan of the concrete beach, so we set ourselves up on the rocky side, a small climb from the cocktail bar. We found a spot where the sea had eroded the rock into seat (throne) shaped coves where we could read our books and chill like royals.

The view from our room, looking out at the 'Lighting Giants'.

If you ever find yourself in Pula for a small amount of time, I'd recommend taking a trip to the Verudella beach over Valkane, which is where these photos were taken the next day.

There's a restaurant that over looks the beach that sells amazing frozen cocktails and food, so you don't have to go too far in your flip flops. We went back there for dinner in the evening, it had the best view to watch the sun set.

We of course had to rent a pedalo because you can't go to the beach without taking trip on one.

We pedaled up the coast and unexpectedly stumbled across a nudest each full of old men, with their wangs out. It was quite wavy by the rocks and they'd constantly pull you closer to the edge, so we definitely got more an eye full - I've been put of prunes for life.

We had an early light the next day after an amazing chilled few days in Croatia.

Dress up your evening away.

Here's my final outfit post and I must say it's one of my favourites from this trip. Lace and embroidery have been everywhere throughout this whole year and I have definitely jumped on the band wagon.

I'm drawn in by any intricate detail and both this skirt and top caught my eye right away. A touch of lace really adds some elegance to an outfit, no matter what style of item it is. I'd wear this body with a casual look, such as jeans or culottes, when I want to style them up into an evening outfit but not look to dressy. Or of course with this beaut matching skirt from ASOS, for an evening away.

I'm a sucker for a matching pattern/fabric, especially when they're not created to be a co-ord, so the mix of black sheer fabric and lace throughout this outfit me so happy.
